One of the most amazing qualities of our marriage is our devotion to our families.  Since the early days of dating, our families have been with us every step of the way, and have provided us with much needed support throughout our journey to have our own family of three.  Our parents are our foundation and strength.  Each of our parents have given us the world and taught us respect, love, courage, hard work, and dedication.  It is our dream to teach these same values to our child (and to allow our parents to spoil our child to no end!). 

And we can’t even imagine where we would be without our siblings.  Greg is the oldest of four boys.  Doug is twenty-nine and married to Brenda and they have a daughter, Giana, and son, Garrick.  Matt is twenty-five, and Tyler is sixteen.  There isn’t a childhood memory Greg has that doesn’t include his brothers, whether it be playing basketball with Doug in the haymow, teaching Matt how to throw a baseball, or helping Tyler with his 4-H projects.  They’ve always been the ‘Zumdahl Boys’ and will continue to be inseparable.

Whittney is the middle daughter of three girls.  Nicole is thirty-three and married to John and they have a daughter, Mia, and son, Cole. And Ashley, the youngest, is twenty-five.  Whittney’s sisters are truly her best friends.  She remembers playing in snow hills and swinging across the creek on a homemade rope swing with Ashley, and having Nicole help her with her hair and makeup.  We loved being the three Miller Girls.

The childhood days with our siblings are gone, but the friendships are stronger than ever.  We have friends in our lives, but the strongest friendships we have are with our brothers and sisters—except now we don’t have to deal with the childhood fights!!!!

Since we are so close with our family, it’s no surprise that we all live relatively close together.  Doug and his family are the farthest, meaning they’re two hours away in the Chicago suburbs.  But Greg’s Mom and Dad are two miles down the road, and all of Whittney’s family lives within ten miles.   So our baby will have lots of hugs and cuddles from Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, and of course Grandparents!
